Bute Early Learning and Primary School is calling on local businesses to help spread Christmas cheer this holiday season.
The school has partnered with Good360 – a non-profit organisation with a mission to supply schools and charities with unsold and surplus products from big businesses – to create gift packs for families in need.
Students will help to create packs for a range of ages using everything from Nike shoes to Lego and baby bottles, before dropping them at local businesses across the region for people to collect.
Principal Richard Hall said Bute Corner Store will act as a central hub for sharing gifts with the Bute community but urged any businesses which have the capacity to host a gift collection point to get in touch with the school.
“Any businesses from Port Broughton through to Moonta, if they’re putting up a Christmas tree which will collect gifts this year, they should get in touch with us – the more the merrier as we want to reach as many people in the community as possible,” Mr Hall said.
“Good360 has sent us so much stuff we will literally have a whole day dedicated to putting the gift boxes together and the students want to work on some nice letters or Christmas cards to go in there as well.”
