Since becoming a Good360 member, The Backpack Venture has made a difference to many rural schools in NSW connecting backpacks with brand-new school items. Education essentials can be a stressful expense for many, so we are grateful to The Backpack Venture for their incredible work in providing children with the tools to gain a quality education. When did The Backpack Venture join Good360?
Our first order was placed in September 2023.
What programs do you use your Good360 donations for? Who does the program serve? How does it impact Australians in need?
Our organisation is a charity that provides support to children in small rural schools of NSW as well as any other child who requires our services, regardless of their location. We do this through the gifting of backpacks and essential school supplies where and when needed.
The support goes not only directly to the children, but also to others within their community who also provide support, such as local Police, school liaison officers, local service clubs as well as Community Groups.
It also builds a bridge to create a positive impact, one backpack at a time, as we strive to ensure that every child has the tools they need to succeed in their educational journey.
What is your favourite moment/interaction that you have had with a client when utilising the Good360 product?
Whilst there are many favourite moments, possibly the most memorable was a visit to Quambone Public School. At the time of the delivery, we were greeted by the entire school population: 10 very excited children and 2 very thankful teachers.
This visit felt like we were stepping back in time to a “Little House on the Prairie”.
The population of Quambone is 128 with only 26 families residing in the area, without facilities to support these families.
On this visit we were supported by the local Police. Each of the children were so welcoming, ecstatic to receive a backpack complete school supplies with a handball which gave them an opportunity to play handball with the attending police.
How does Good360 help your mission?
An extract from our Mission Statement tells the story:
“Our mission is to gift backpacks and school supplies to as many school children in small rural towns in NSW, together with students facing economic hardship regardless of their location.”
With Good360 and the businesses that support them with products we are able to provide children with backpacks, school supplies and other miscellaneous products.
As we have limited funds, the support of Good360 has proven invaluable.
What would happen if Good360 wasn’t here to help?
If we were unable to receive the benefits that Good360 currently provide, the number of children and communities that we can service would be greatly reduced. So far we have been able to support more than 3,500 children in the state with Good360 on our side.
What is your favourite donation you have received from Good360? Why?
We recently received 30 boxes of LEGO Police Cars. These were distributed to local police officers on our road trip to rural NSW, to enable them to provide comfort and a talking point when they interact with children in various circumstances, some tragic.
The supply of hundreds of drink bottles is also in the top 10 of donations received. These drink bottles are now being engraved with our logo for distribution as promotional items to help raise our profile to potential corporate partners.
How many lives have you impacted through Good360’s donations?
The Backpack Venture has delivered more than 3,500 backpacks complete with all of the essential school supplies to school children throughout NSW. With the assistance of Good360 the impact on these children is a brighter future, academically and personally.
