The Danks Trust, a philanthropic trust associated with the hardware entity, John Danks & Son Pty Ltd has made a $50,000 grant to Good360. The grant will help to fund the Good360 GivingPlace, an innovative online platform allowing businesses to donate excess and obsolescent product to qualified non-profits.
Good360’s mission is to connect business’ excess product with charities who need them. It has already operated in the US successfully for 30 years, delivering over $8 billion worth of excess stock to non-profits, and is currently being established in Australia under the strong leadership of founder Alison Covington and a Board of Advisors.
The Danks Trust has been making a difference in the community through philanthropy for over 85 years, spanning four generations of the Danks family. Contributions made by the Trust helped establish a hospital for Methodists, which is today the very successful Epworth Hospital. This was named one of the ‘Top 10 Philanthropic Gifts of All Time’ by Pro Bono Australia.
A statement from The Danks Trust said: “The Good360 project is an innovative project to help those who are marginalized in our society. The Danks Trust has previously supported a similar project in the ‘food collection & distribution’ area and is enthusiastic about the Good 360 project.”
Alison Covington, founder of Good360 Australia, also stated: “The Danks Trust is very highly respected in the community and we are excited to have their support. The Good360 GivingPlace will facilitate product philanthropy seamlessly, so charities of all sizes and causes will be able to serve Australians in need even better. It can truly change lives – this is what we call doing good, better!”
With support from Danks Trust and other donors, Good360 has completed fundraising for the GivingPlace IT build. It is now opening EarlyBird registrations for non-profits ahead of the anticipated GivingPlace launch on December 1st.
