Good360’s Member of the Month program allows us to celebrate and congratulate those members that go above and beyond. Our June Member of the Month was Lomandra School and Community Project! Lomandra School is a school for students with challenging behaviours and/or mental health issues. The school strives to prepare students for life beyond school. Lomandra School also runs a community pantry which helps provide essential goods including food, clothing, toiletries and more to vulnerable families in the Macarthur region.
We interviewed Lomandra School Community Officer, Audrey Nable asking her about some of her favourite moments and how Good360 supports Lomandra’s work.
What programs do you use your Good360 donations for? Who does the program serve? How does it impact Australians in need?
We use the items we receive from Good360 both in the school environment for education, self-care and art programs as well as in the community to help those affected by a disaster, to create emergency packs and help the homeless. As well as serving our school and surrounding schools our programs also support those within our local Macarthur community. The Community Program supports and makes a positive impact on those who are experiencing insecurity and vulnerability of all ages and from all backgrounds.
What is your favourite moment/interaction that you have had with a client when utilising the Good360 product?
Delivering products to families who lost their homes in the 2020 bushfires. We were so grateful to be able to provide support to families who had lost so much.
How does Good360 help your mission?
Good360 allow us to support families, assists those in need, encourages communication and kindness and enables families to access products they may not be able to afford. They also raise awareness of the value of community engagement and help reduce waste.
What would happen if Good360 wasn’t here to help?
Many of our families would not be able to receive care packs, toiletries and hygiene products, home essentials and vital clothing and personal care items.
What is your favourite donation you have received from Good360? Why?
That’s hard!! Each donation is precious. To be able to nourish our community with items they may need from arts and crafts supplies to stationery and toys, to furniture, appliance and home essentials to those who lost their homes. It all means so much. LEGO is always amazing, to see smiling faces on kids faces, I think that is amazing!
How many lives have you impacted through Good360’s donations? (estimate)
Thousands!! Big and small donations. It doesn’t matter, each donation puts a smile on someone’s face who is experiencing vulnerability.
