In Conversation with Matt Barnett, Outgoing Chair
As Good360 Australia marks its 10th Anniversary, we’re not only celebrating $500M of goods delivered in our first decade, but also a significant leadership milestone. After more than seven years as Board Chair, Matt Barnett is stepping down from the role, and we had the chance to sit down with him to reflect on the journey.
In this video interview, Matt shares the evolution of his involvement with Good360, from joining to lend his expertise in digital marketplaces and logistics, to developing a deep passion for our mission of ensuring the right goods reach the right people at the right time. He reflects on the early challenges of validating a brand-new business model and the pride he feels in helping Good360 become one of the most efficient and impactful not-for-profits in the country, where every dollar donated delivers $20 worth of impact into local communities.
Matt also speaks candidly about key milestones during his tenure, including stepping into disaster recovery work after the Black Summer bushfires, and the power of our growing network of more than 4,700 local charities and schools. Looking ahead, he shares his hopes for the next decade under incoming Chair James Atkins and continued leadership from Founder & Managing Director Alison Covington AM.
Matt’s perspective is full of insight, humility, and optimism, and we’re so grateful for his years of dedication.
