New research reveals that over four million Australians are struggling to afford basic toiletries such as shampoo, soap and deodorant.

Hygiene poverty is believed to be a precursor to food and fuel poverty and can have devastating impacts on both mental and physical health.

So, what more needs to be done to ensure that people aren’t being forced to make tough decisions about which essentials they buy.
