Congratulations to our Member of the Month for June, Moorditjabiny Housing Aboriginal Corporation. MHAC is a newly-established community controlled organisation with a focus on community housing and holistic support for Aboriginal peoples in Western Australia. Their aim is to achieve Aboriginal self-determination to ensure their community can come together to heal and grow. Read about the incredible work they have done since becoming a Good360 member in 2022.
When did Moorditjabiny Housing Aboriginal Corporation join Good360?
In August, 2022.
What programs do you use your Good360 donations for? Who does the program serve? How does it impact Australians in need?
We have a range of programs that are very holistic and provide supports to Indigenous families and individuals in need.
What is your favourite moment/interaction that you have had with a client when utilising the Good360 product?
Our organisation’s first donation received was mattresses. Being able to provide bedding for children that were sleeping on the lounge was a very heartwarming moment. To provide a mattress to a young man that was sleeping on the floor in families loungeroom, it’s hard to put in words the gratitude of our clients.
How does Good360 help your mission?
It’s the little things. What most take for granted our clients don’t have the privilege of being able to afford: new toys, cleaning and hygiene products, and bedding. It is so needed and we are so grateful for Good360, they help us to help others. It really is life-changing for so many.
What would happen if Good360 wasn’t here to help?
More would be in need, many would go without, and we would not be able to provide those “little things” that to our clients are huge and life-changing.
What is your favourite donation you have received from Good360? Why?
We have received mattresses and more recently Dettol antibacterial products. Both donations are on par, our clients are so grateful.
How many lives have you impacted through Good360’s donations?
The mattresses helped around 9 people including children. The Dettol products are close to reaching 100 individuals.
