Congratulations to Member of the Month, Carlton School for accepting a donation of LEGO and generously separating them into twelve different orders for schools in and around Port Augusta in South Australia. Their gracious act, which included them taking on the delivery of LEGO door-to-door, allowed students from local schools to experience the benefits of LEGO in their every day learning. Read below on Carlton School’s experience with this delivery and how they have utilised LEGO in their programs.
When did you join Good360?
We joined Good360 as a member in January, 2022.
What programs do you use your Good360 donations for? Who does the program serve? How does it impact Australians in need?
Good360 has supported education and students from a variety of backgrounds around the Port Augusta and Spencer Gulf area with the donation of $60,000 RRP of LEGO for 12 different schools.
Carlton School uses their Good360 donations school-wide to support students getting along, with team bonding, and problem-solving. In 2023 we have big plans to introduce the LEGO into our STEM curriculum.
What is your favourite moment/interaction that you have had with a client when utilising the Good360 product?
Our favourite moment at Carlton School was when we first opened the LEGO. The team work and smiles it brought to the students faces knowing they could achieve something together was priceless.
How does Good360 help your mission?
Our mission at Carlton School is to build life-long learners. Working with LEGO supports students from a range of different backgrounds, whether it be working in small groups, supporting students to re-enter the classroom or using them as a reward when they have finished their work. It’s the special moments when the students don’t think they are learning, but the LEGO is providing skills that they can use throughout their school and work journey.
What would happen if Good360 wasn’t here to help?
Without the help of Good360 it would be difficult for schools in our region to maximise student engagement, learning and getting along.
What is your favourite donation you have received from Good360? Why?
The LEGO has been our favourite Good360 donation. It enhances STEM & learning opportunities for children in our region.
How many lives have you impacted through Good360’s donations?
Around 2500 students with the LEGO hitting schools in Port Augusta, Port Pirie, Quorn and Whyalla. Also a special thank you to Cochrane’s Transport who supported the delivery of our LEGO.
