Good360 is the trusted approach for disaster response and recovery. During the catastrophic event of a bushfire, charities and communities trust Good360’s proven approach to ensure the right goods get to the right people at the right time. Fires strike quickly and unexpectedly meaning residents often have to flee with nothing more than the clothes on their backs. Good360 is there during the early stages with clean-up goods including, gloves, respirators and brooms and we are still there throughout the long term, with homewares and furniture to help rebuild lives and homes.
Long-term partner Harvey Norman stepped up to make purposeful donations to Good360 in the months after the fires had been extinguished, to help families as they were rebuilding their homes and their lives.
Darryn was out fighting the bushfires in January when fire swept through his town and his home was lost. At the time Darryn kept fighting fires while he was waiting to hear if his wife and 6-month old baby were in the evacuation centre.

Good360 understands the lifecycle of a disaster is a marathon, not a sprint and we focus on a six-phase disaster recovery framework for giving funds, goods and volunteer time during disasters: Readiness, Response, Recover, Rebuild, Refurnish and Revive. These six stages help businesses and everyday Australians understand where the need lies at any given time throughout a disaster’s lifecycle.
We know it is natural to want to rush in and offer assistance when the disaster strikes but we have years of experience helping partners pledge their support over the length of the disaster and this is essential to the community organisations on the ground so they know donations will continue for the many months and years it takes to recover, unfortunately, the research shows too much is donated in the first few weeks – we want to help change this.
Ongoing bushfire recovery
The 2019–20 Australian bushfire season, colloquially known as the Black Summer, began with several serious uncontrolled fires in June 2019. Throughout the summer, hundreds of fires burnt, mainly in the southeast of the country.
Reports from 2020 estimate the fires burnt approximately 186,000 square kilometres, destroyed over 5,900 buildings (including 2,779 homes) and killed at least 34 people. An estimated one billion animals have also been killed and some endangered species may be driven to the verge of extinction.
While media reports about Black Summer have all but disappeared, three years since the fires occurred, many families are still living in temporary accommodations and struggling to get their lives rebuilt.

How you can help
We are Australia’s largest online marketplace for businesses to donate brand-new goods to a network of pre-vetted charities and disadvantaged schools nationally – around 3,600 are registered.
