NAIDOC Week 2025 at Good360 Australia

NAIDOC Week celebrates and recognises the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. It is a time for all Australians to learn about First Nations cultures and histories, and to honour the strength, resilience, and contributions of the oldest continuous living cultures on earth.

This year’s theme, “The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy,” honours the enduring spirit of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, acknowledging the wisdom of past generations, the vision of today’s communities, and the strength of young leaders shaping the future.

At Good360, we stand in solidarity with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and celebrate the work they do to create strong, culturally safe spaces that support health, wellbeing, and connection. This week, we’re proud to shine a light on some of the incredible Good360 Members that are Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander-led or work closely with First Nations communities. These organisations are vital touchpoints for their communities, offering trusted, culturally appropriate support and services.

We’ve included a selection of impact stories to help you connect with and learn from their work, and if you’d like to support any of these organisations further, you’ll also find links to learn more about each one.

Walking Together: Supporting Indigenous Organisations with Essential Donations

Western Sydney ITC – Kimberwalli

‘Donated footwear and blankets were carefully sorted and prepared for distribution in partnership with local Indigenous organisations. They had a meaningful impact on both the community and organisations involved. A portion of the items was delivered directly to the Men’s Shed, where they were handed out to community members attending programs focused on health, wellbeing, and skill-building. The remaining goods were allocated to the Real Futures Women’s Second Chance Hub, supporting women on their journey toward rebuilding their lives through employment, education, and cultural reconnection.

For the Men’s Shed, the goods provided immediate relief to men facing hardship, helping them stay warm during colder months and boosting participation in health and wellbeing activities. It also strengthened the Shed’s ability to offer practical support, building trust and connection among members. At the Real Futures Women’s Second Chance Hub, the donations supported women experiencing vulnerability by meeting their basic needs, allowing them to focus more fully on personal development, job readiness, and healing. For both organisations, these contributions not only alleviated material hardship but also reinforced their role as safe, culturally supportive spaces where individuals feel valued and empowered to rebuild their lives.’

The Western Sydney Integrated Team Care (ITC) program supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with chronic health conditions. It does this by overcoming barriers between primary and secondary care, physical health and social care so that people receive safe, holistic care when they need it. Additionally, the Kimberwalli branch supports Aboriginal young people and their families reach their full potential to Culture, Country and Community and access to life-long learning.

Power of Reusable Period Packs

Ngwala Willumbong Aboriginal Corporation

‘We distributed the reusable period packs directly to women residing at Winja, prioritising those who expressed the most need due to financial constraints. The packs were introduced during a group session, where we discussed menstrual health and sustainable practices. One woman shared, “These packs are amazing. Not having to worry about buying pads every month means I can put that money towards other essentials.”‘

Ngwala Willumbong Aboriginal Corporation is an Aboriginal community-controlled organisation that is dedicated to delivering quality specialist alcohol and drug residential rehabilitation and outreach support services to meet the needs of Aboriginal people and their families.

Enhanced Health and Wellbeing across the Top End of Northern Territory

Country Connect Foundation

‘Thanks to Good360 and its product donors, the items were distributed to Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations, which are vital to community operations in remote communities, many of which provide health and wellbeing services to community members. In addition, the hand sanitiser was used throughout community programs in which hygiene was a priority, including cooking classes. It also promoted conversations on the need to maintain adequate hygiene.

These donations have made a significant impact in remote communities across the Top End of the Northern Territory. They have been gifted to Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations, who, like us, rely heavily on the generosity of donations to continue to provide the level of service they do.

Country Connect Foundation prioritises enhancing the social and emotional wellbeing of communities through culturally relevant activities. They believe that by prioritising the needs and voices of the communities they serve, they can create meaningful and impactful connections.

Christmas Miracle in Darkinjung Country

Eleanor Duncan Aboriginal Health Services

‘The toys we received from Good360 were distributed to families who attended our Community Christmas Party, a free event for the Aboriginal community on Darkinjung Country (the Central Coast). This gathering was a special opportunity to bring community members together, celebrate the holiday season, and share joy with families, children, and Elders. By providing these gifts to children and families, we were able to ease some financial stress for parents and caregivers. One mother shared how much it meant to her, as she was struggling financially and wasn’t sure how she would manage Christmas gifts this year.

This support strengthened our program’s ability to bring the community together in a culturally safe and welcoming space. Events like this help build stronger connections between families, reinforce cultural pride, and show that our organisation is here to support mob in meaningful ways. Being able to hand out gifts and see the pure excitement on the kids’ faces was truly rewarding. It felt like, just for a moment, we got to step into Santa’s shoes and bring a little extra magic to the day. The event wasn’t just about the presents—it was about creating a space where families felt supported, connected, and part of something bigger.’

Eleanor Duncan Aboriginal Services provides a wide range of health and education support for communities and families including medical and dental care and education, drug support and intervention, permanency support, family preservation and homeless care coordination. They acknowledge that health is not just the physical wellbeing of an individual, but the social, emotional, cultural and spiritual wellbeing of the whole community.

Good360 Continues to Support Regional and Remote Aboriginal Communities through

Dr Steve Burroughs Foundation

‘Working alongside Katungul Aboriginal Health Services on the South Coast of NSW, the Dr Steve Burroughs Foundation has been able to better support the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal communities by addressing the everyday need for essential items. Many families feel disconnected from traditional clinical settings, so Katungul hosts culturally safe community gatherings where families can access free health checks, nutrition advice, and medical support. Thanks to Good360, the Dr Steve Foundation enhances these gatherings with wellness bags filled with practical items like hygiene products, warm clothing, and school supplies—helping families stay well, especially during the colder months when the need becomes critical.

Beyond the South Coast, we also responded to the devastation of Cyclone Alfred in the Northern Rivers, providing emergency shipments of clothing, bedding, and essentials through Good360’s supply network. Although the Foundation doesn’t receive government funding, generous donations allow it to purchase much-needed items from Good360. With support from Good360 and its corporate partners, the Dr Steve Burroughs Foundation continues to make a real difference in the lives of Aboriginal families across regional and remote communities.’

The Dr Steve Burroughs Foundation aims to improve the social and public well-being of disadvantaged Indigenous Australians. By engaging with local communities and partnering with corporate entities, we work to enhance living standards while respecting Indigenous culture and the environment. They were established to connect corporate partners with Australia’s First Peoples, promoting sustainable development and empowering Indigenous communities.
