Stockland Supports Charity Good360’s Bushfire Recovery Efforts in Nowra Region

The Stockland Care Foundation has donated $50,000 to Good360 Australia to assist in their disaster recovery efforts for bushfire affected communities on the South Coast of NSW. Good360 is a matchmaker connecting the brand-new surplus goods of businesses to over 2,000 member charities and eligible schools Australia wide. Good360 helps connect the right goods to the right people at the right time during all stages of a disaster, providing hope and dignity to Australians impacted.

Good360 will split the funding between two projects in the Nowra region. The first project is in partnership with Not for Profit Salt Care, Good360 will provide new, bedding, kitchen and furniture items to fit out two new transitional houses for men who have been sleeping rough in the bush outside Nowra. Good360 will also provide new washing machines and dryers for a community laundry and general product for Salt Care’s weekly care packages.

The second project will support Bomaderry Public School, Nowra Public School and Nowra East Public School with each school receiving $65,000 worth (RRP) of Good360 product. The schools will access goods to support their communities’ specific needs including home learning packs, basic clothing, school and family essential goods, plus Good360 can supply them with gifts for significant events such as Father’s Day and Christmas

The Stockland CARE Foundation is a charitable trust set up to deliver infrastructure, programs and initiatives that improve the health, wellbeing and education of communities in and around their shopping centres. The Foundation also works closely with its corporate and charity partners to amplify its existing community contributions.

Amy Hogan, National Manager of Group Sustainability at Stockland, said: “We’re proud to grant $50,000 to Good360 in support of two projects on the south coast, to improve local Shoalhaven communities who were impacted by the bushfires last year, and now COVID-19. Both programs aim to directly support people in the area who have limited access to essential resources such as food, clothing or shelter, and will also be put towards helping primary school students to succeed with additional school products and home learning packs.

“We will continue to build on the success of our Stockland CARE Foundation grants programs, and work with organisations on projects that will help our local communities to thrive.”

Founder and Managing Director of Good360, Alison Covington said: “We are so grateful for Stockland Care Foundations support. This donation is going to make a tremendous impact in the Nowra communities. Especially for those men who were sleeping rough in the bush and moving to transitional housing we’ll be providing furniture for. In order to reach the wider community affected by the bushfires we are also providing product to the local Public Schools. These schools are the lifeblood of the community and will help make sure we get the right goods to the people in the Nowra community who need them most.”

Good360 are calling on other funders and philanthropists to support disaster recovery efforts for drought, bushfires, flood and COVID-19.
