Media Release

9 December 2021, Sydney, Australia – Australia’s most loved family store, BIG W, is inviting the nation to share in the love of giving this Christmas with the launch of its in store Giving Tree initiative, providing customers an opportunity to donate gifts in support of families who need a little extra help this year.

BIG W’s charity partner, Good360 Australia, has matched all 176 stores with a local charity, enabling the Giving Tree program to support over 105 organisations across Australia, including women’s shelters, children and youth at risk, schools, homeless shelters and children in hospital.

Managing Director of BIG W, Pejman Okhovat said: “The Giving Tree is a wonderful opportunity for our communities to come together to help make a difference for other families at this special time of year. Our wonderful partners at Good360 will ensure that all generous donations will be placed in the hands of community members who need them the most.”

Good360 has been a charity partner of BIG W since 2017, helping to match surplus goods to local families in need, essential goods to disaster-affected communities, and special gifts to vulnerable people during important celebrations such as Christmas, helping to provide hope and dignity.

Alison Covington, Good360 Founder & Managing Director said: “A lot of Australians have had a really tough year and we are very proud to be working with our long-term partner BIG W to help spread joy this Christmas. Many people who would not normally ask for help are now feeling vulnerable, and gifts from the Giving Tree will let them know that they are not alone at this special time.”

In addition to its Giving Trees, BIG W is again supporting five Children Hospitals* around the country by selling $2 and $5 tokens to raise much needed funds for life saving and life changing programs.

Customers can place unwrapped gifts under their local BIG W Giving Tree or purchase a Christmas Token from now until Christmas Eve. For more information, visit www.bigw.com.au
